Yahoo has recently changed its approach for allowing 3rd Party applications send email thru the Yahoo servers. Ymail or Yahoo mail also work in a similar way as Google mail does but its interface and company policies were certainly different as they run it on their own servers where millions of people were using it in their daily life. Whereas, nowadays an app-specific password is a new feature that makes everyone more curious.
To send emails from the WinScore application using your Yahoo Mail account, you’ll need to generate and use an app password. An app password is a long, randomly generated code that gives a non-Yahoo app permission to access your Yahoo account. You’ll only need to provide this code once to sign in to your third-party email app.
- Sign into your Yahoo Account.
- Click on the top, right-hand corner of the screen where your name appears> Account Info.
- Click on Account Security and enter your password for their personal verification.
- Now scroll down and at the bottom, you can see the Generate App Password appears on your screen and from you need to click on it. Select the Other App item at the bottom of the list.
- Enter the name: WinScore and click on the Generate button.
- COPY the generated password and PASTE it into the PASSWORD FIELD in the WinScore app.
- Click the Send Test Email button.
- Save Settings
- Life is good again!
